EMT COURSE DESCRIPTION
EMT courses offered by Three Forks Area Ambulance may take 12 to 13 weeks to complete to attain the minimum Montana State requirement of 120 hours. The classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm during the week. There are also required classes every other Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Included in the course is American Heart CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and the NREMT practical exam upon successful completion of the course, students are allowed to take the National Registry written and practical exams. The written exam is computer based and offered across the country. The practical exam is offered at the end of the EMT course consisting of real-life emergency scenarios.
Course Fee: $650
ATTENDANCE: Students are required to attend all classes to be eligible to take the written and practical exams. One class maybe skipped with no penalty. Other absences will be addressed on a case by case basis.

TEXT BOOK REQUIREMENT: Fundamentals of Basic Emergency Care, 3rd Edition. (included in the course fee)
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Blood Pressure Cuff, Stethoscope and Pocket Mask (Available from Instructor, $??).
?? HOUR AMBULANCE RIDE ALONG: Provided by Three Forks Area Ambulance - Schedule will be determined at class.
CPR COURSE DESCRIPTION The American Heart Association CPR course teaches CPR and relief of choking in adults, children and infants. Upon course completion your CPR card will be valid for 2 years
EMT MEDICAL REFRESHERS All EMT's are required to recertify every two years. Included in the recertification requirements is taking a 24-hour EMT-Refresher course. The Three Forks Area Ambulance usually offers a refresher course within the two year license period or can provide information for students with other refresher courses held in the state of Montana. These courses includes lectures, hands-on skills practice and an exam.
CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS Three Forks Area Ambulance offers EMT’s the opportunity to gain continuing education credits throughout the year. Current EMT’s are required to have 48 hours of continuing education. Please contact Three Forks Area Ambulance for CE opportunities offered throughout the year.
