Safety Officer – John talked about the very icy conditions we are experiencing now. It is a god idea to have as many people on the cot as possible so it does not tip. At least a person on each side, besides on each end. He also mentioned that we need to be aware of Body Substance Isolation. A call last week brought this to his attention. A person had severe edema and sore on the legs. The sore were leaking and actually squirting blood and infection. The responders were stepping in, kneeling and putting equipment down in the infectious material. Cindy had previously purchased 3 or 4 sets of scrubs. They are upstairs in the Halloween stuff right now. Becky will dig them out and put them in the bathroom closet so people can wash their clothes at the station after a BSI issue.
Pete talked about the and TJ driving out to the home of the Trach boy on the lower Madison. The address was not marked so he made a sign making the address for them. He met with the Mother and the full time home health nurse. He passes out directions to the house and reminded everyone that the fastest route to the hospital is on the Norris Rd. AMR will respond from that direction. REACH will be paged on every call. The boy is doing great and looks and acts very normal.
T-Shirt Order – TJ told Becky that he went to check on the order last week and when they opened the box at Balco, the logos were peeling off. They also did not remove the “Champion” logo from the shirts as requested. Becky and TJ, with the approval of Bruce, decided to tell them to keep the shirts and we would go back to Hands On. TJ will take the order to them tomorrow.
Masonic Dinner – The dinner was held on Tuesday the 17th . The dinner was very good. (Chicken and cupcakes). TF Fire was there and many of the Lodge members. They thanked us for our service to the community and gave tours of the building if anyone was interested.
Kim let everyone know where he stands with his health. He has been released by his Dr. with limitations for no lifting, no sick people and strenuous activity. He is glad to drive and do patient care at his and the shift supervisor discretion. He just wanted people to know and if anyone had any objections.
Ambulance Issues Stacy – Every page sent out by dispatch requires us to make a report. Us the no patient contact if you are canceled before you get off the apron, or en route. Also pt. assists, lifts etc. When they send a page, it generates a number and if we ever get audited, we need to account for all dispatches.
Stacy also explained again about automatic dispatch of AMR to our calls. They will be paged on (C) , (D) and ( E ) calls. Cancel them when you get on scene if the scene does not require a Paramedic. On the pages when it says OA, that is just a notice that no one else is paged, zero alarms.
Ambulance Issues Becky – Please do not forget to fill out the supplies used on the runs on the trip report sheet. That helps with the billing.
PLEASE SIGN UP TO COVER SHIFTS!
No Captains issues.
We did run reviews
