Last Month's Training:
Feb 17th Jim Duran King County STEMI and 12 lead training was very informative and interesting. Sam took very good notes of this training, please email her if you would like a copy. Emphasis was placed on how to recognize not diagnose heart attacks, proper placement of leads, to exfoliate and shave the area well and to stay quiet during capture.
Feb 20th Reach Air Medical Training at Three Forks Airport practicing Hot Loading patients. Some things to keep in mind: always load from the left, wait for approval from crew before you approach chopper, uneven terrain adds difficulty, chopper has their own cot that they bring out to load patient onto or will load directly if pt is already on backboard, and when approaching and leaving chopper stay in close groups, don't scatter. Communications are always on tan, but please keep in mind on handheld radios (5 watts) you have to be line of sight for it to work. Radios in rigs are 100watts and should have longer reach. Red flashing triangles have been placed in all rigs passenger doors for marking the landing zone.
Maintenance- Pete: Accident kits have been placed in passenger doors of rigs. Light bulbs for Amb 1 should be in later this week. New cot has been put into service in Amb1 , now all our rigs have power cots. New cot is a little different, please check it out next time you are at the station to familiarize yourself with it. The chest belt is more like a racing harness, there are storage pockets behind head, one has extender strap for larger patients.
Supplies- David: All cot batteries are interchangeable, Stryker and DeWalt batteries work on all cots but need different chargers. One spare battery has been ordered. New Active 911 has come out on Apple and Android. There are several new tools on the updated version including the ability to get lat/long coordinates and measuring tool for determining distances (straight line).

Gen Ambulance Issues:
Becky: Thank you to everyone for stepping up and doing your own reports. Please remember they need to be submitted to Becky within 24 hrs so she has time to approve and submit to State. Patient Refusals: Document, Document, Document. It is just as important to document refusals as it is PCR's.
Stacy: Ongoing issues with pagers and radios, pages should be going out when radio channels are down. Remember if Fire N goes down, Fire W is used. If Fire W is being used as main dispatch channel you can check your pager for GTAC channel assigned to call to coordinate with other agencies, etc. New Policy Manuals are available. Please turn in any previous version(s) and get new copy from your Captain. There is a signature sheet in each manual that needs to be given to your Captain once you have taken the time to read the new manuals.
Sac Fundraiser (Cindy): On hold, they are in between event coordinators.
TJ: Thank you to everyone for your continued service. Please keep in mind on pages you cant predict how serious all calls will be by the letter designator code: calls with A can be very serious also. Please step up if you see additional manpower pages being issued. Keep up on calendar, pages will go out if there is no ine signed up that day. TJ is in charge of reservations of our building, please refer interested parties to TJ. Discussion with board to follow about suggested donation for use of the building.
